The Creators Behind the A.L.E. Reed Balancer
About Us
Marty Giaimo and Dominic Bianco have been lifelong friends since they met at the age of 18, bonded by their shared passion for music. They continue to perform and gig together, showcasing their dedication to their craft.
Marty is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music and the High School of Performing Arts. He is proficient in nearly all wind instruments, including the clarinet, saxophones, flute, trumpet, piano, and percussion. Marty has had the privilege of studying with numerous renowned musicians, further refining his exceptional talent.
Dominic has privately studied guitar and vocals for over a decade. A true craftsman, he is skilled in repairing and constructing almost anything, including handmade guitars (as shown in the picture), surgical instruments, kitchen knives, and custom cabinets.

The A.L.E. Reed Balancer is a compact tool crafted from high-quality 440 stainless steel and designed with a precision-engineered edge. Handcrafted to perfection, this innovative tool allows players to remove small amounts of bamboo from their reeds, ensuring they lay flat on the mouthpiece bed. This adjustment enhances the reed's vibration, promoting a more even response from both the left and right sides for superior playability.
Most natural reeds do not perform optimally straight from the manufacturer—not due to poor craftsmanship, but because of natural warping and the moisture content within the bamboo.
The A.L.E. Reed Balancer empowers musicians to fine-tune their reeds with precision and ease, all without the risk of damaging the reed or cutting themselves.
